Giving Voice to the Korean American Community
The Minnesota China Friendship Garden Society will hold a site dedication and launch of its proposed expansion plan on September 18. Various events, free to the public will be held at and around the garden, located at Phalen Regional Park in St. Paul and Maplewood, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Events will include a Nine Art Stones celebration, and New Voices in the Garden poetry contest reading and prize ceremony, and Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Celebration.
Entries are being sought for the New Voices in the Garden poetry contest. Prizes will be awarded for poems in each of four languages: English, Chinese, Hmong, and Dakota/Lakota, Theme of the contest is Earth’s Balance, and prizes will be awarded in two age categories; younger than age 18, and 18-plus.
