Giving Voice to the Korean American Community
Adoptee Hub, a Twin Cities service and educational organization by and for intercountry adoptees, will hold its (in-person) annual fundraiser under the title theme Jeong: The Power of Reunification, on Saturday, November 6.
Keynote speaker for the event will be filmmaker Sun Hee Engelstoft (born Sun Hee Shin), a Korean adoptee from Denmark. Her 2021-released film Forget Me Not, will be shown at the event. Other special guests at the event will be a recently-reunited Korean birthmother and adult son (names to be announced). A panel discussion of the three guests will also be included in the event.
Adoptee Hub seeks to connect adoptees with one another and with resources and critical post-adoption services. It strives to offer programs, opportunities and events that encourage adoptees to know their history, have a sense of belonging, experience their birth culture, and access services in a safe and supportive environment.
The fundraiser will be held at Moundsview Community Center, starting at 4:30 p.m. with a social hour and silent auction, followed by dinner and program. Tickets will be available on the website: www.adopteehub.org/events.
