Giving Voice to the Korean American Community
The Sejong Cultural Society is offering a free online five-part class for all educators on how to teach sijo, a traditional Korean poetry form.
Course start dates this fall are on Sundays (September 12, October 24, and December 5) and continue into 2022. The course is designed to train teachers about the sijo poetry form and how to use it in their classrooms. It includes detailed analyses and critiques of student and professional sijo, and guidance and writing and editing in sijo form. Participants will practice creating and implementing a sijo lesson plan.

Teachers who complete all course assignments and submit a lesson plan at the end of the course will be eligible for a $50 stipend after the course ends. Exceptional lesson plans will earn an additional $50, and will be distributed to other teachers with the author’s permission.
