Giving Voice to the Korean American Community
Minnesota writers of the essay and poetry collection We Are Meant to Rise will speak in an in-person panel Sunday, April 24, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Common Ground Meditation Center, located at 2700 E. 26th St., Minneapolis. Panelists will include Minnesota Korean American poet and writer Sun Yung Shin, with co-contributors Arleta M. Little, Shannon Gibney, Ricardo Levins Morales and Mona Susan Power.
We Are Meant to Rise tells the story, from the point of view of Minnesotan writers of color, of the racial reckoning that began in Minnesota with the murder of African American George Floyd by a white Minneapolis police officer. For more information on this event, see the below link.
