Kimchi Girl

Meaghan was born on the island of Hong-do in South Korea and adopted at age 5. She grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and has been drawing since she was living in an orphanage at Korean Social Services when she first had access to paper and crayons. She soon after started drawing comics once she had moved to the USA. She studied Biochemistry and Visual Communications in college, and began self publishing comics in Berkeley, CA. During her time in Berkeley, she co-founded a Korean adoptee non-profit with two other adoptees she met in the California North Bay Area called AKASF. She then started a career in animation in Los Angeles for Cartoon Network where she co-created “A Kitty Bobo Show”. She also created Kimchi Girl comic strip exclusively for KQ beginning in 1998. She later opened her own commercial animation studio, Dunnamic, which she ran for over six years and then sold off part of the business to investors. She continues to work as an animator at TD Bank’s internal creative agency Studio 361, and lives in Bucks County with her daughter Nari where she still creates her own animations and comics from her home studio.
